Mashpee High School
School Improvement Plan
2010-2011 Goals
The goals of the Mashpee High School Principal, Jane Day, are also the School
Improvement Goals as created with the School Council and ratified with them on October
14, 2010.
Student Performance Goal:
Mashpee High School Students will improve standardized test scores:
MCAS—to improve the percentage of students who score in Proficient and Advanced
range on ELA, Math, and STE by 5%.
SAT—to improve average district performance on SAT's in all subject areas by 5 points.
AP—to improve by 5%the number of students scoring 3's, 4's, and 5's on AP exams.
Action to be taken:
With a combination of outside professional development, in-house resources and solid
best practices for instruction put into place throughout the school year, teachers will
move their students into the stated goal range.
Evidence of Quality Implementation:
Score reports that come to us after the standardized exams will illustrate progress in each
area. MCAS reports are usually available in August, SAT reports (for May) are available
in July, AP score reports are available in late July.
School Culture Goal:
Students, teacher and parents will participate in district-sponsored anti-bullying program.
Action to be taken:
Provide in-house professional development on anti-bullying strategies for teachers and
students. Invite parents to a series of information events on the topic.
Evidence of Quality Implementation:
After the 12/31/10 submission of the district proposal, and following its guidelines,
information on the topic will be shared with all parties. Activities for students provided
during advisor/advisee time in second semester will address this issue, among many
others.
