10.4 Conflict of Interest Law Changes <br /> 10.4.1 Summary and Acknowledgement(SC only) <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw went over the changes to the Conflict of Interest law and <br /> gave a summary to the Committee. <br /> 10.4.2 Evening Workshop Inquiry <br /> Is anyone interested in attending an evening workshop regarding <br /> the Conflict of Interest Law changes? If so,please notify Kathleen Moore <br /> at the Town Hall. <br /> 10.5 Race to the Top Grant <br /> Race to the Top(RTTT) is a$4.35 billion dollar competitive federal grant <br /> which is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. If the <br /> Massachusett's state application is successful, RTTT will bring$250 <br /> million dollars in new funding to Massachusetts. At least half of RTTT <br /> funds awarded to the state will be distributed to Massachusetts's school <br /> districts that sign a MOU in which they agree to implement the initiatives <br /> outlined in the grant application. If Mashpee participates in RTTT,we <br /> anticipate receiving approximately$30,000 a year for four years. <br /> A memorandum of understanding signed by the school committee chair, <br /> superintendent, and president of the local teachers' association must be <br /> submitted. Only districts that submit a memorandum of understanding <br /> will be eligible for RTTT finding. <br /> Mr. Bailey,Mr. Franco and Mrs. Stanley are in favor of this grant. Mrs. <br /> Mills and Mrs. Grady are opposed. The MOU will be signed and <br /> submitted. <br /> 10.6 Powerschool Parent Portal Update <br /> A letter has been sent to MHS parents/guardians informing them that <br /> beginning January 11 they will have access to grades and attendance <br /> through the student information program, Power School. A copy of the <br /> instructions explaining how to access the information was included in the <br /> parent letter. <br /> XI. Report from the Principals <br /> Ms. Zaeske, KC Coombs School; Mrs. DeBoer, QS School; Mr. Babbit, MMS <br /> and Mr. Winrow, MHS gave a brief review of the activities and events that have taken <br /> place over the last month. <br /> XII.
