The design is proposed to include an elevator and <br /> stairway. It does not contain finish construction at this bine. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to obtaining additional space for future <br /> expansion needs. Conventional framing over the apparatus bay to obtain <br /> an enlargement of 2500 square feet was discussed in lieu of the basement <br /> design proposal. <br /> Dr. letti related concern with respect to this regard, and requested the <br /> Committee give consideration to incorporate the basement design option <br /> in the schematic proposal. <br /> It was noted that the schematic design of the facility was redesigned from <br /> 18500 square feet to 16,500 square feet. Approximately 4,600 of existing <br /> building space is presently located in the apparatus bay area. <br /> Preliminary cost estimates were obtained from A.M. Fogarty & Associates <br /> for the intended project scope. Mr. Sweeney indicated that he has worked <br /> with this cost estimating firm for the past twenty years. The cost estimating <br /> firm specializes in budgeting, preliminary design development, final cost <br /> estimates, quantity surveys and value engineering. <br /> Growth in the local economy has determined increases in unit costs per <br /> square foot and general construction costs informed Mr. Sweeney. <br /> A.M.
