Fire Station Building Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 5, 2000 <br /> Present: Joyce Mason, George, Baker,Dr. Elizabeth Pette, <br /> George We niak, Peter Thomas <br /> Absent: Joseph'Peltier <br /> Guests: James May— Wallace Floyd Design Group <br /> Mark Pittsley—Wallace Floyd Design Group <br /> Robin Greenleaf—MEP ngin r'ng& Fire Protection 4 <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Mason at :10 a.m <br /> lashpee Fire &fescue Station. <br /> Bid Phase: Pre-Bid Conference <br /> Members of the Fire Station Building Committee attended a <br /> pre-bice conference with representatives of the Wallace Floyd <br /> Design Group and MEP Engineering&Fire Protection for the <br /> purpose of reviewing the scope of work related to the renovation <br /> and additions to the Mshpee Fire &Rescue Station. <br /> To date, sixty-seven interested firms requested plans for the intended <br /> project scope. James May,Project Architect discussed the general <br /> outline of the design proposal with the attendees. It was noted that the <br /> Fire &Rescue Department.is expected to maintain its full function during <br /> the ten-month construction process. <br /> It was also noted that the Town of lahpee would assume responsibilities <br /> relative to site preparation work to include; clearing, grubbing and paving. <br /> The Director of Public Works will be requested to review the entrance of <br /> the subject design proposal in addition to site preparation issues. <br /> In addition, site lighting indicated on the plans to he relocated is no longer <br /> existing. The only site lighting addressed was the relocation.of existing <br /> site lighting. *Lighting for the new parking area at the front of the station <br /> will have to be addressed by the Committee. <br /> Five firm representatives attended the pre-bid conference. As a result of <br /> addendum to he distributed, the opening of the bids will be delayed. It <br /> was noted that project addenda include; a new 125 kwh generator in lieu <br /> of re-using the existing generator and the review of electrical issues <br /> related to general components of the intended project scope. <br />
