t <br /> Fire Station Building Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> August 18, 2000 <br /> Present: Joyce Mason, George Baker, George Wen'ak, Sheldon Hamblin <br /> Absent: Dr. Elizabeth Petti, Peter Thomas,, Charles Stone <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Mason at 9:00 a.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Conference.Room 92. <br /> CLER&OF THE WORKS—INTERVIEWS: <br /> Jack R. Lopes <br /> Mr. Jack Lopes of Falmouth interviewed for the.position of clerk of the <br /> works. �Ie profiled over thirty r ay- of success within the construction <br /> industry. Mr. Lopes is a Boston licensed general contractor and holds a <br /> Massachusetts supervisor's license. <br /> The most important aspect of the position is to closely monitor the general <br /> contractor and adhere to the specifications of the project noted Mr. Lopes <br /> who stated that he has the ability to detect and resolve problems in a fair <br /> manner. In the position, he would monitor, observe and report to the <br /> ton. Mr. Lopes indicated that he is computer literate and available to <br /> work full-tine if appointed to the position. <br /> Ernest Virgilio: <br /> Mashpee resident and former Director of Public works,Ernest Virgilio <br /> interviewed for the position of clerk of the works for the new fire station. <br /> Mr. Virgilio indicated that he has thrrty gears of management experience. <br /> Former projects include, the Mashpee Transfer Station,. PW building, <br /> Mashpee Police Station and as Director of Construction for the <br /> M ssa.chu'setts State Lottery building in Braintree. <br /> Mr. Virgilio indicated that he retired from the State Lottery to become a <br /> consultant and is presently serving the Town of Mashpee as a volunteer <br /> and representative to the Cape Cod Commission. <br /> As a resident of the town, 1 r. Virgilio stated that he is c nc m d with the <br /> project. He is willing to commit to theJob on a full or part-tune basis to <br /> ensure success for the town. <br />
