the holidays, I.am not sure what type of donation they might make, if any this
fall.
Castleberry Fairs has contacted me and asked me if the Library would like to
sponsor their event again. They would lite to hold their event the weekend of
August 3 &4 on the Mashpee Commons Green. we are guaranteed a minimum
of$2500 from then for the event. They have also offered us a free booth for the
Friends or other Library fundraising. I arra in the process ofchecking with
14ashpee Commons to see if the dates are even available.
This year, Castleben r requested that no other Craft Fairs be held within 30 days
of their event. I explained that we had a prior obligation to the village Crafters,
and they waived the clause because the village Crafters event was taking place a
week or two after Castleberry. The.Village Crafters are now proposing to hold
their Fairjust days before the Castleberry Fair, which might be problematic.
The Thursday date might also conflict with Janet url e's summerchildren's.
program. This year Janet had a Saturday program booked the same day as the
Village Crafter's Saturday Fair, which closed half of the parking lot. The result
was many unhappy people who were scrambling to find parting so they could
attend the children's program.
The DPW removed a number of trees from the grounds that appeared to be
dying, and replaced them with new ones. The-carpets.were also cleaned
throughout the building on October 6. New shelving has arrived and is bung
installed in the Children's Room to replace defective shelves, Cape Col Alarm
tested the fire and alarm system.
During the month there was a number of service issues with the-phone and
voicemail service, and calls and messages were cut off, or lost in some instances.
We received some feedback from patrons concerning the situation, and it was
addressed by the 'Town IT department.
i r
