Also,Myra Suchenicz quit and she was going go to GeoTMS class for e Planning Module. Charlotte Garron took the job and will go to class within April or May. I am also working with GeoTMS tying to get the Town Clerk's Vfooring Database/Mooring Waitfist, and Pet license data into GEO. They have a bunch of homegrown access databases that are :oo much work to maintain and not 3ood at groupware concepts. f think I'll send Deb Damn to class since she has a lot of one offs with Permits and Licenses that I vould love to see in GeoTMS. shut off outside email access around mid January because it was unencrypted. My original intent was to let people play with it end see how useful it was,then 3uy a Digital Certificate and offer encrypted SSL sessions anywhere in the world via a browser—just like banks do.....but I ran ut of money. I went to Finance committee and fought for an additional 6K to see me thru the year until June 30th to be spent as follows. )Buy a pc for Fire Dept—(1 used one of theirs to make a symentec mail security gateway.)Suggested by vendor in dec when e did network upgrade. st bought a Vedsign Digital Certificate to enable 128bit SSL encryption for out Email server. Plan to install with vendor 'stance 3rd week of April. Need to buy a network tool called fpswitch Professional. Helps troubleshoot network errors at the iptpacket level. need to buy a better Anti-Spam solution. Since we bought email in house I have received email administrative info as follows: 5,684 virus's deleted by the Symantec Mail Security Gateway prior to arriving at the users pcl - ,466 messages sent to me as suspected spam mail instead of going to the users. They still get about 50-100 a week as far as I n tell. I plan on buying an anti-spam subscription to Symantec,much like virus signature subscriptions. plan on implementing a spyware solution. Was going to buy Webroot Spysweeper, but Symantec just added it free to their anti- s offering, once I rade from 9.0 to 10.0. We'll see how it goes. we have been very busy enhancing the network and applications that we started upgrading end of last year. Let me know if need more info. anks,David i 4/12/2005
