MASH EE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING - OCTOBER 29, 199'7 PAGE 10 <br /> Selectmen, the audio-visual equipment ment is currently <br /> being worked on. <br /> 10-2.4 Legislation - Mrs. Cook reported there is nothing never. <br /> 10.2.5 Safe Transportation Task Force - Mrs. Lynch reported <br /> on the meeting held on October 28, 1997. She said <br /> the Board ofSelectmen are scheduled to meet <br /> regarding a l rova.l,for Route 28 bus stops on <br /> November 3. The next meeting is set for January 27, <br /> 1998. <br /> 10.2.6 Personnel Committee - Mr. Paxton said a meeting is <br /> scheduled for November 13, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. <br /> 10.2.7 Boosters Club - Mrs. Lynch the Booster's Club raised <br /> $2,000 on a recent dance and almost another $2,000 <br /> t otoerfest, They are currently working on the <br /> program guide for the {Thanksgiving Day parade. Mrs. <br /> Lynch thanked the School Committee for voting to <br /> approve the wrestling and intramural basketball <br /> programs. The Flying Falcon was an excellent success <br /> t two home games. Also, the Booster's Club provided <br /> lunches for the Nantucket and Mashpee football teams <br /> at a recent game. <br /> XI. Other Mr. Paxton said at the last meeting, teaching assistants at the <br /> elementary schools was discussed and he asked if it would be okay <br /> for high school students to volunteer and leave during directed <br /> learning rather than stay at the high school? 'These students <br /> would assist-the specialists at the elementary level. Br. DeMoura <br /> said Time and Learning regulations may be a problem lem as high <br /> school students are required to obtain 990 hours of learning <br /> during the school year. Also, there may be contractual problems. <br /> However, he said he would investigate this possibility. <br /> Michael Pietrowski reminded the Committee that a joint meeting <br /> with stonehill College needs to be scheduled to discuss distance <br /> learning. It was decided that Yri*day, December 5, 1997 at 10:00 <br /> a.m. the Committee would meet with stonehill College <br /> representatives. <br /> i <br />
