Macdonald asked what is the status of <br /> substitutes? Thr. DeMoura said vire are in good shape but <br /> sometimes it is difficult to secure enough for the days needed. H <br /> said the daily stipend is $50.00, one of the lowest of any Cape- grid <br /> school system and felt perhaps that was one reason why substitute <br /> teachers are difficult to secure. He will place an advertisement for <br /> additional substitutes. He will place that on the FY99 budget <br /> agenda. <br /> 7.5 Meeting dates <br /> . .T Jan Williams - Strategic plan -- Joanne R r , Associate <br /> Director of MASC, acknowledged that it is difficult to arrange <br /> meetings with convenient locations lor all. Therefore, she <br /> suggested setting up a meeting with Jing Harder, the MASC <br /> Field services Representative. Mrs. Lynch said she would <br /> contact Mr. Hardy during the MASC/MASS Joint Conference <br /> during November r - . <br /> 7.6.2 'Torn Fudala - School Facilities Master Flan - The <br /> Committee suggested meeting with Mr. Fudala on Monday, <br /> November 17, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Dr. DeMoura will contact <br /> Mr. Fudala. <br /> 7.6 Purchasing Policies - Mr-s. Lynch asked to have this item <br /> placed on the agenda. she said she did not care to sign off on <br /> warrants for items that have already been purchased and <br /> suggested signing warrants before they were purchased. Thr. <br /> I eMoura said the Committee members would have to commit <br /> themselves into coning into the office every day if they wanted to <br /> sign off of warrants prior to purchasing. Further discussion <br /> followed. No action was taken. <br /> 7.7 Devartment of Education - information Manag ment system <br /> Thr. DeMoura explained that the Department of Education is <br /> currently in the process of computerizing the flog of information <br /> between educators while dramatically reducing paper usage. It is <br /> estimated that this Will be on-line by the end of FY . Dir. <br /> el oura discussed the four "strands" of the DOE IMS Project. <br />
