5 <br /> 9S00 Cheryl Hicks and Bernadette Borgo submitted a petition to ask the Board to <br /> proceed with the 'Cable TV for the- Town.- <br /> Mr. Murphy explained the process for continuing with the petition. He stated <br /> that itis not necessary for an article for the Board to conduct a public <br /> hearing within the next sixty days. <br /> Selectmen scheduled the hearing for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3rd. <br /> Old Business <br /> 1 Selectmen received two articles for their review. The articles dealt With political <br /> signs and the other was submitted by theWater-ways Committee. <br /> The Board agreed to include these a rt i c l e s, on the warrant. <br /> .. Selectmen reeeived a memo from the Town Accountant recommnd.ing the town not <br /> adopt UMAS as she felt it was cumbersome and overburdened with duplicationoin <br /> effort. She also pointed out if the .town did adopt this system it would <br /> require an additional full time clerk for the department. <br /> Selectmen eoncurr's with the Town Accountants recommendation. <br /> . Selectmen were notified by the Attaquin Park Committee of the next scheduled <br /> meeting. <br /> . The Planning Board notified the Selectmen of the hearing dates relative t <br /> the zoning articles. <br /> Business <br /> 7) . Selectman 'IHomas moved to appoint Richard A. R ndo and Robert J. McCaffery to <br /> the Attaquin Park Committee. Selectman Hanson seconded. All were in favor. <br /> 5) . Selectmen were notified of the continued closing of the Mashpee River. <br /> Selectman Thomas advised the Bdard that she immdliately sent a letter requesting <br /> further information but has not yet received the information requested. The <br /> Board deferred .this item to old business of next week. <br /> . Selectmen received com ni ation from'the office of Environmental Affairs <br /> relative to the Massachusetts wetland R striction Act and its alication-' ire <br /> the Town of Mashpee. <br /> 1) . Selectmen received an application from Harry Davenpot for an Auctioneer's License. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to approve the request of Nr. Davenport for an Auctionee'rs <br /> License. Selectman Hanson seconded. All were in favor. <br /> 2) . The Mashpee Child Development, Inc. requested an extension of one year on their <br /> lease and also requested extending heir hours by fifteen minutes- a day as well <br /> as five days a week. <br /> Selectman Thomas moved to extend the lease and also to increase the rent to $1.50 <br /> per month. Selectman Hanson- seconded. All were In favor. . <br /> . Selectmen received a request to reclassify the accounting personnel. <br />
