TOWN OF MASHPEE
CONSERVATION COMMISSI J& 13
'J'rABLE P.O. BOX 208 MASH
MASEPEE, MASSACHUSMS 02649 PF-E SELECT W&S
lcl
To: The Board of Selectmen July 13, 1990
From: The Mashpee Conservation Commission
Re: Recommendations for Appointments
i
On behalf of the Conservation Commission, I alb
corresponding to pass on the Commission ' s recommendations
i for the current vacant positions:
For the two regular memberships, The Commission
recommends Renee King Fudala and Dan Home er. Ms . Fu ala was
the only candidate with an environmental background, having a
Masters degree in Environmental Sciences and extensive
professional experience in the biological sciences. Dan
Home er has attended meetings frequently over the past six
months and has demonstrated has interest in other ways, such
as attending the most recent annual meeting of the Mass.
Assoc. of Conservation Commissions.
For Associate Members, the Commission recommends Susanna
Lannik and Claire F . Lavin-Friel . Ms. Lannik is an attorney
and has indicated a willingnes-s to provide advice and do
research for the . Commission. Ids. Friel has had significant
past political experience, having served as . a selectman in
another municipality.
After having requested a second interview, fir. Jamie
Regan an did not appear as scheduled and the Commission received
no call from hire. In his first interview, he had stated that
he would not be interested in the associate
position, Nis.
Donna Searcat and fir. James Kinney declined interviews.
The Commission r spe tful.ly requests immediate action
regarding these appointments. Several of our current members
(we ' re now down to five ) will he unava i l iah l e in the next
month clue to summer vacation plans and other personal
natters. We have' cone very close to having no quorum several
times in the last month. Since our, meetings frequently go t
11 :00 or later, to lack a quorum and postpone all matters to
a subsequent meeting would cause significant legal and
practical difficulties,
On behalf of the Commission,
 s 4,to
-
Bob Sherman
Conservation Agent
