Jim believes Stone has made the rounds of town hall and probably
spoke with Bob Sherman.
Tom said he only had a preliminary look at the schedule of values
and faxed his comments to SMMA. The number for the STP was
interesting -- $285 , 000 .
Joel explained that is only the equipment , it doesn' t include the
subtrades .
Tom said for a $20 million project there should be a more
detailed schedule of values .
Joel said this is just a first draft , SMMA will comment ,
Chartwell will comment . It ultimately has to be approved before
the first payment request .
VALUE ADDED LIST
Paul explained , as he understood it , this Committee is going to
come to an agreement amongst themselves for the value added items
and then ask for a lump sure price and will either accept that or
deny it .
Merry Sue said she is not sure everything should be grouped
together , separate out; the landscape . The Committee still needs
answers on some items .
Paul explained there are 2 factors : the added design time , added
fee . It makes a big difference on how you go about this process .
Peter would like to set the FF&E budget first so we know what is
left over to spend.
Ed does not think that becomes critical for a number of months .
Merry Sue agreed, some of this money has to go back to
technology. We need to see budget figures and to date the
Committee has not seen those figures .
Ed Frenette said the Committee will have to make some gross
assumptions and they will recommend some of the money go into
contingency and you can buy some things from that also . They
will mare a recommendation at the next meeting .
Paul suggested having that discussion in Executive Session.
Paul asked Tom Wren to prepare a revised budget , to help put
everyone ' s mind at ease .
Peter said the Committee needs to know, from the technology
subcommittee , what they need.
Steve does not think they will end tip spending the $4 . 7 million
which has been mentioned . They need more details before they can
decide .
He agreed you should go back to the contractor with a minimum
number of lines .
Paul said they should lump items together but there some things
which can be done at the end of the job . If they don' t like
Stone ' s price on those items , they can be bid . The Committee
should think about what items can be done at the end of the job.
4
