i <br /> I <br /> Burd of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 28, 2011 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Mashpee beck Storrnwater PmiqLt Discussion: <br /> Catherine Laurent,DPW Director announced the Town is in receipt of grant <br /> fundmg in the amount of$141,000 from the Cape Cod Vater Restoration project <br /> for drainage improvements to Mashpee beck Road. <br /> As a result of poor water quality, various portions of Shoestring Bay are closed <br /> permanently to shellshing. The grant will allow for the constriction of bio- <br /> retention swales on the east side of Mashpee Neck Road. The project will extend <br /> from the intersection of Frog Pond to the boat ramp, and will Include the <br /> installation of drainage structures designed to capture the first 1"of rainfall. It <br /> was noted the design standard meets federal requirements. <br /> Construction of the bio-retention svales will prohibit approximately boo' of <br /> parking along the east side of Mashpee Neck Road. Permit holders are presently <br /> allowed to park vehicles and haat trailers on this side of the goad, but they are <br /> prohibited from parking on the west side due to the close proximity of area <br /> homes. A parking restriction if supported by the Selectmen will reduce the <br /> amount of spaces by fifteen. <br /> The Selectmen were supportive of the grant to improve water quality in <br /> Shoestring Bay.
