r <br /> 7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 2 , 2011 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Certification and Confirmation of Hiring Process—Assistant Town Manage <br /> er. <br /> Although the Hiring Certification for the final candidate was not included in the <br /> Selectmen"s packet, Joyce Mason, the Town Manager was pleased to report the <br /> most qualified candidate was located in-house. It was noted that Selectmen <br /> Sherman attended the final interviews for the three remaining applicants <br /> conducted in a fair and equitable process. Both Mrs. Mason and Mrs. Sherman <br /> indicated they felt confident the candidate, Torn Mayo, the Town's GIS <br /> Administrator has the passion for the gown of 1lashpee, and would be a great <br /> asset to the Town. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to move forward to certify and confirm <br /> the appointment of Torn Mayo as the Assistant Town Manager. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: -1. Motion carnes. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Taylor, no Selectman Richardson,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman.,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes opposed, 1 <br /> Selectman Taylor indicated he is opposed to the appointment due to the lack of <br /> information. It was noted there is a contingency plan for the CAIS Department <br /> during this transition. <br /> Request for Policy Amendment—Policy# —House Numbering Poli <br /> The Town tanager recommended the Board defer action with respect to the <br /> above referenced agenda.topic. During the interim, it was recommended that <br /> Deborah I a,mi, the E911 Coordinator House Numbering Agent remain until the <br /> GIS Administrator positron is reinstated. <br /> In accordance with Policy 444, the GIS Administrator shall act as the House <br /> Lumbering Agent for the Town of 1 lashpee and shall-determine the numbers to <br /> be assigned to all improved lots located on public or private ways. <br />
