6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 2 , 2012 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS: <br /> flash ee fewer Commission', <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with several members of the Sewer Commission. <br /> including Paul Gobell,the newly appointed Sever Administrator to review <br /> matters associated to the creation of a water/Sever District. It was noted the <br /> Mashpee Water District is in agreement to have water and sever operations under <br /> .one single organizational structure. <br /> Counsel for the Nater District,Attorney He chy is expected to draft an article for <br /> the Annual water District meeting to create a Sever District through special <br /> legislation. Town.Counsel,Patrick Costello will prepare-ars article for the May <br /> Town Meeting to transfer sever operations from the Town to the Water District. <br /> A ballot questions would also be written to place the matter before the voters that <br /> would assist with the special legislation,process. <br /> Currently,the 1 lashpee Sewer Commission has been conducting due diligence <br /> with respect to-the planing process. Several options including USGS mlig <br /> are in the development stages. The Plan'when reeom vended by the Board o <br /> Selectmen will require approvals from MEPA and the Cape Cod Commission. It <br /> was agreed the Sever Conrnission would continue their efforts to move the <br /> planning process forward-to fruition as science and-eng�nering-will lead.to the f <br /> ultimate decision. <br /> It was decided the Town would M ite representation from the Vater District to <br /> attend meetings of the Sewer Commission to collaborate resources in this effort. <br /> It was noted there have been ongoing discussions with respect to creating <br /> regional wastewater-authority. However,the proposal is at present, a concept. <br />
