Excerpt from email from a business associate from Marshfield.
Now flood- I dont know how much you know about what is going on, but it is bad. I'll break this into 2
parts.
Maps: Each community is dealing with the maps at different times. Most communities are in a 90 day
appeal period, and as a Coalition, we are trying to appeal Marshfield's maps, as well is the Town. These
maps are drastically different than the old maps. In Marshfield, they took areas that were flood zone
AE9, and turning them into AE16. A link to our maps are below so you can view them:
http://www, arsl-ifieldcoastalcoalition.org/Marshfi€ld_Cif:izens_Coastal_Coalition/MaDS.htm
The methodology, elevations, and more are just wrong.
Biggert-Waters: No matter how bad the maps are, Biggert-Waters affects ALL flood policies. There is a
lot to explain in this act, so I'm giving you the link to our educational outreach below:
http://www.marshfieldcoastalcoalition.org/Marshfield_Citizens_Coastal_Coalition/Outreach_Documents.ht
ml
Look this over, it will basically give you all you need to know on all of this in about 60 slides.
