The Town will contact utility companies, <br /> the U.S. PoService, 911, Town departments and alarm companies regarding the street.' <br /> name change. Copies of the letter were distributed to members of the public. <br /> Chairman Petersen inquired about the timeline for implementing the name change. Mr. pudala <br /> responded that it would,be immediate upon the Planning Board's vote, adding that-the Planning <br /> Board was responsible for reviewing name changes for private roads. Mr. Fudala indicated that <br /> abutters had been notified of the hearing and the Board was tasked with making the decision <br /> about the name. Public mads with conflicting names would be addressed by the Board of <br /> Selectmen. Mr.,Fudala indicated that more street name changes were expected, and that this was <br /> the second nye change(Postage Star np Road) reviewed by the Board. Mr. Fud.ala noted that <br /> the working Group had offered three potential names but also indicated residents could <br /> submit a street name, provided it conformed to the street naming policy. <br /> The appointed time having arrived, the Chair opened the Public Hearing for National <br /> Development. <br /> MOTION: Mr.Balzarini made a motion to continue the public hearing to 7:45 p.m. lir. <br /> Iooharian seconded the motion. Ail voted unanimousty. <br /> Chairman Petersen opened the Public Hearing fox BCDK LLC, regarding Blue Castle Drive. <br /> MOTION: 'Mr.B rini made motion to continue the public hearing to 8:00 p.m. Mr. <br /> Kooharian seconded the motion. A voted unaninno lyy* <br /> Board members returned to the discussion regarding the Eat way name change. Ibis. waygan <br /> inquired about the number of homes impacted. It was confirmed that there were 7 homes a total <br /> of to lots, some of which were unbuildable . Fire Chief Thomas Ruflo, who sits on the working <br /> Group, indicated that Fast war presented a perfect case' for efforts bung made throughout the <br /> entire Town. Chief Rul to referenced the challenges associated with any confusion should safety <br /> responders travel-to East road instead of East Way, adding that GPS capabilities were not fail <br /> safe. In reference to local responders bowing the of Mashpee, Chief Rullo pointed out <br /> that the Fire Department receives assistance from surrounding communities who would be,less <br /> familiar with the roads in Mashpee. Chief Rullo stated that this was a problem being faced <br /> nationwide and that Mshpee was making every effort to correct the problem in town. <br /> Mark Kahn of 24 East way inquired about the number of times that responders hand traveled to <br /> the wrong location due to a similar name and Chief hullo responded that, in his 2 gears in <br /> Mar hp e, he had heard confusion on 5 or 6 occasions, and credited his officers who questioned <br /> the dispatcher to clarify the confusion. Chief Rullo stated that a simple ley stroke error could <br /> 2 <br />
