Much of the information required can be obtained through the Orleans Planning <br /> Department or Conservation Commission. The scope ofsuch analysis shall include the following <br /> information relative to impacts and their mitigation: <br /> (e)For subdivisions containing two (2) or more lots with land within Groundwater <br /> Protection District 2 an analysis of the impact upon ground and surface water quality <br /> and level including estimated phosphate and nitrate loading on groundwater and surface <br /> water from septic tanks, lawn fertilizer and other activities within the development. <br /> 3.6 CAPE COD REGIONAL POLICY PLAN <br /> Water Resources Goal-WRI: General Aquifer Protection <br /> Minimum Performance Standards <br /> WRI.1 Five ppm Nitrogen Loading Standard:All development and redevelopment shall <br /> not exceed a 5-parts per million (ppm) nitrogen loading standard for impact on <br /> groundwater unless a stricter standard applies in accordance with the water resources <br /> classification system below. Guidance on methodology to meet this standard can be <br /> found in Cape Cod Commission Nitrogen Loading Technical Bulletin 91-001, as <br /> amended. <br /> WRL S Turf and Landscape Management Plan:Development and redevelopment shall <br /> adopt Best Management Practices such as a turf and landscape management plan that <br /> incorporates water conservation measures including the use of native and drought <br /> resistant plantings and the use of drip irrigation, and minimizes the amount ofpesticides <br /> and chemical fertilizers. <br /> WR1.8 Alternatives to Chemical Fertilizers and Pesticides:Development and <br /> redevelopment are encouraged to utilize alternatives to,synthetic chemical fertilizers and <br /> pesticides in favor of organic and biological methods. <br /> Water Resources Goal-WR2:Drinking Water Ouality and Quantity <br /> The following Minimum Performance Standards apply to development and redevelopment in <br /> Wellhead Protection and Potential Water Supply Areas as shown on Water Resources <br /> Classification Map L <br /> Pleasant Bay Fertilizer Management Plan 18 Horsley Witten Group,Inc. <br /> Final Report December 2010 <br />
