Zoning bylaws should be revised in each town through <br /> amendments to the dimensional tables to limit new lawns to a maximum size of 2,500 sq. ft., <br /> thereby reducing this future load by 50%. <br /> In summary, adoption of the five strategies targeting current nitrogen load could result in an <br /> overall nitrogen loading reduction of 5,410 lbs/year,which represents 5.2 %of the controllable <br /> nitrogen load within the watershed. In addition,the fourth strategy targeting residential lawns <br /> for future development would result in a reduction in future loadings of 1,332 lbs/year.
