Community Preservation Comm' waygan eported that one application was <br /> received from the Mashpoe DPW and the Friends-of Sarmlit Pond for a Santuit Pond <br /> restoration project using solar powered diffusers. DPW Director Cathrhi Laurent and Ms. <br /> Mmn attended the meeting to share heir ideas about renting or leasing the units. The <br /> Chair noted that a feasibility study would be impractical fuse the pond was shallow'so <br /> leasing was recommended as an option in case the units proved unsuccessful. <br /> Historic District Commission-Io meeting <br /> New Business <br /> None at this time <br /> Old Business <br /> Comprehensive Plan-Mr. Newton indicated that he needed Planning Board feedback <br /> regarding the Affordable Housing Production Planand the Economic Development SWOT <br /> Chapman waygan recommended that a piesewafion take place at the next meeting to allow all <br /> members to review both drafts. <br /> Economic Development Element Draft-Mr. Newton described the SWOT Analysis <br /> (strengft weals , opportunities, ,the chart of which appears on page 3 7 of the <br /> draft. 11r. Newton ton noted that the SWOT Analysis reviews a number of factors regarding the <br /> economy, the type of businesses in Mashpeeand emerging hxhumies. Mr. Newton stated <br /> that he developed the analysis based on the previous clysis and his opinion. Each ' <br /> renes weakness, opporhmity and threat was ranked 1-3, with l being the lowest factor <br /> and 3 indicating that the item was of n ,or imporumce,the definitions are located on page <br /> . Mr. Newton noted his intent to share the draft with the EDIC first, but they have been <br /> unavailable to review the draft. Mr.Newton annoy that the EDIT recent.ly received <br /> grant to work cooperatively with Fabnmxth. Nor.Newton sued that he would like to <br /> incorporate the preferences of the Planning Board into the SWOT Analysis. The Chair <br /> recommended meeting next Wednesday, June 8, to further des the deters of the SWOT <br /> Analysis and then follow up with Mr. Newton. Board members discussed the ranking o <br /> each item and Mr. Fu inquired about the possibility of utilizing a menus for the <br /> weaknesses and threats. Mr.Newton responded that the had been utilized to <br /> identify which items stand out as most gnif cant, Mr. Balzmini questioned the Mashpee <br /> Commons 40B project., and hover in was a benefit to M shpee and b&. Newton responded that <br /> if the Board collectively disagreed, it could be removed or the ranking changed. Mr. <br /> Newton noted that the project would provide a neighborhood of people located at Mashpee <br /> Commons. The Chair requested Mr. Fud a draft a list of <br /> additional items and his suggested . <br /> Affordable Housing Element eft-Mr. Newton reported the Mashpee's <br /> Production Plan, which was submitted to the Deparmmnt of Housing& Community <br /> Development; had expired in 2010. In order to create the Affordable Housing Draft, Mr. <br /> Newton combined the Comprehensive Plan with the Production Plan. The Chair and Mr. <br /> laud la provided copies of their marked up versions of the drag.
