Economic=Development'Strategy <br /> Mashpee's economic development strategy is based on a renewed focus on business <br /> development and job growth, which comes from: 1 completion of the Mashpee Commons <br /> mixed-use projects, re-energ .ing the. EDIC to become the town's lewd agent for economic <br /> development, developing its industrial base by recruiting additional health care facilities and <br /> share of the Cape's emerging.induces, .and 4 expanding tourism by building on the assets- <br /> already available.in town. This strategy-is guided by four mutually reinforcing principles. First <br /> is asset-building or utiliation of the town7Scompetitive advantages or strengths as a building <br /> block for further sustainable growth. To enhance this econonuc activity, toe town's assets must <br /> be Promoted. This re luums collaboration with nelghboring communities, Barnstable Counter, the <br /> Cape Cod Commission as well as local chambers and business groups. In addition, there must <br /> also be an organised and unaged process for securing company l tion-decisions-or,--new- <br /> investment resulting_k6m-lo .l-entreprene lint r'est , -Laid and perhaps most importantly, <br /> -is a need for an organization with a focused strategy and the leadership and staff to <br /> implement projects. <br /> B.
