Report to Planning Board Judy 13, 2011 Mmdchime Point Tree Inspection and Decisions Chairman waygan and Town Planner Tom Fudala, at the request of Mr. Joseph Cummings,president of the Wmdchime Point Condominium Association,inspected a number oftrm proposed for removal at Wmdchime Point due to . F The inspection took place begin at.3:15 p.m.. on Wednesday,July 13, 2011. The Chair and Town Planner were accompanied by Nft. Cummings, l indchime's arborist .ick Cox and other residents of v indchime Point The first-tres to be reviewed were six Colorado Spruce trees to the rear of 79 and 8 1 Blue Spruce war,the side and front. f 81 and.the front of 1 (gold Leaf Lane. After viewing the condition of the tees,-which were clearly unhealthy, due to being unable to tolerate the irrigation systems in the area(other trees and shrubs-were thriving ,the Chair authorized ped removal of the six trees andrequired that they be replaced with two suitable deciduous trees along Gold Leaf Lane,.with two suitable large shrubs to replace the other trees removed toward Blue Spruce way.. _ - -- - --- - next tree viewed was ly sick cedar gree at the front of 21 Gold Leaf Lane. Removal, with no replacement(as the area was already well wed with shrubs)was authorised by the Chair. . The last tree viewed was a Ju'm"per at 25 gold Leaf Lane. used on its poor condition,the Chair authorized its removal,provided that it is replaced by a large shrub such as a + rhododendron. - The site of the proposed stone-filled drainage swale along the east side of Rel Cedar Road was also viewed. The area.is subject to erosion of soil onto the road and along the - road, with the edge of pavement beginning to break up. The proposed Swale will be covered with Ater cloth and the shoulder area will be re-vegetated with grass or a suitable ground cover to hold the soil in place. .
