(DRAFT-FOR-DISCUSSION PURPOSES ONLY) <br /> public health, safety, and other effects or impacts the Establishment may have on the <br /> Town and on municipal programs, services,personnel, and facilities,the Town may <br /> expend the Annual Payments at its sole and absolute discretion.Notwithstanding the <br /> Annual Payments,nothing shall prevent the Company from making additional <br /> donations from time to time to causes that will support the Town,including but not <br /> limited to local drag abuse prevention/treatment/educatioDJentrepreneursEp <br /> programs. <br /> 4. Other Payments. <br /> Company anticipates that it will make purchases of water;aiad sewer from all local <br /> government agencies. Company will pay any and all,fees`is sociated with the local <br /> permitting of the Establishment. If the Town receives other-payments from the Company <br /> (other than additional voluntary payments madoibyvtl e Comp2ffi ,or from the <br /> Department of Revenue or any other source,the finds which have been collected by <br /> assessment against the Company, includin&ISU.t-not limited to taxes fnr posed by an act of <br /> the legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or a mandate from;the Town for <br /> said payments, the amounts due from the Company to the Town under the terms of this <br /> Agreement shall not be reduced.by the amount of such other payments. _ <br /> 5. Conservation/Education/Prevention and Entrepreneurship_Programs. <br /> Conservation,Education&Prevention: The Company, inadditionto any other <br /> payments specified herein, shall annually contribute to non-profit or municipal entity or <br /> entities in an amount no less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000)towards conservation <br /> efforts in the John's Pond conservation lands, fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) for the <br /> purposes of drug abuse prevention/treatment/education programs (the <br /> "Education/Prevention Donations.") The education programs shall be held in Mashpee if <br /> possible, or else those communities adjacent to Mashpee. Prior to the selection of anon- <br /> profit entity program for this purpose,the Company will review their intentions with the <br /> Town, acting through its Town Administrator and Chief of Police to ensure that the <br /> proposed prograrnrniāg is consistent with community.needs. <br /> Philanthropic Entrepreneurship: In,addition,the Company shall allocate no less than <br /> $35,000 annually in Philanthropic Entrepreneurship grants for local businesses,whereby <br /> qualified applicant entities,whether for-profit or non-profit,may apply for and receive <br /> grant moneys that further a specific public purpose in the applicant entity's stated mission.. <br /> Those public purposes must be reasonably related to one.or more of the following <br /> categories, or as the Company's directors may otherwise determine, from' time to time: <br /> a) Research for Cannabis in Geriatric Medicine &Opioid Alternatives <br /> b) Cultivation Technology for Sustainable Agriculture <br /> c) Cannabidiol(CBD) Extraction&Manufacturing for Animal&Human Health <br /> d) Cannabis Community Education on Cultivation&Medicine <br /> e) Historical Research&Development for Holistic Medicine with Indigenous <br /> Peoples <br /> 3 <br />
