Lynne Barbee read into the record a letter of thanks from the Sight Loss Services, Inc. <br /> dated June 14, 2017 to the Human Services Committee for the funding given to them. <br /> The Director reviewed her monthly report for July. The Drop In Nights have been ver <br /> successful. She said they have 16 different agencies that attend the drop in nights. The <br /> Task Force helps out and they are looking at other ways to promote the night. The next <br /> one will be August 1. She is very grateful to all the people that are involved. <br /> There was a discussion on whether or not the reverse 911 should continue when notifying <br /> the public about the Drop In Flights, She noted that there is a discussion about possibly <br /> skipping the reverse 911 for August. The Director noted that the Task Force <br /> unanimously voted to continue the calls. <br /> Motion* Mr. Cahalane moved to write a letter to the Town. Manager requesting his = <br /> approval to continue the reverse 911 calls for the Drop In Nights. Seconded by <br /> Frank Fantasia. vote 4-0-1 with Lynne Waterman. abstaining, <br /> The Director+noted she has been asked to be on `The Point" with Mindy Todd at the end <br /> of August. She suggested Jen Monaghan'oin her to tally about the success of the Drop in <br /> Nights. <br /> The Chair noted there is grant money available from the Cape Cod Health and Human <br /> Services. <br /> There was a discussion on Narcan availability and its liability and the training required, <br /> The Director stated she has had several hoarding cases. Lynne Waterman stated the <br /> will be conducting a Buried Treasuries Program at the Sehlor Center beginning i n in <br /> g g <br /> September thru January which is a support group for people who have cluttering issues. <br /> She was also approached by the Cape Cod Hoarding Task Force who would like to do a <br /> Community panel on hoarding. . <br /> The Director stated she will be meeting with the Town Manager on her initiatives for <br /> g -- <br /> net year and she will be discussing these at the next meeting. She said one of her <br /> initiatives will be separating out substance use as one and mental health as another,. <br /> Lynne Barbee spore about the Red Cross presentation at the Senior Center. <br /> She also spore about the CELT (Community Emergency Response Team) volunteers and <br /> suggested reviving the CELT Program in Mashpee. She stated the volunteers are trained <br /> by the Sheriff s Department to assist first responders and that i t would be worth looking <br /> at coming up with a CERT Team in Mashpee, Lynne Barbie also shared.some "Fire <br /> Stops' which you attach above your stages in case of'a fire. - <br /> ADDITIONAL TOPIC <br />
