wetlands near the northern boundary, which would have to be studied further if an
expansion of either the building or parking lot is planned for this area.
Cemetery
The need of additional cemetery space at buildout depends on a number factors: how
much land is actually developed (five acres are the initial proposal) and how many
residents buy plots. In addition, since people that do die in Town will be replaced by
others who move in, buildout for the Town does not mean the cemetery space can be
planned for its "buildout." An initial estimate is thaterha s another five acres could
p p
be cleared for use as cemetery plots.
Coordination with other Towns/County/Other Agencies
Coordination is needed with the Cape Cod Commission in three areas: ettin the Town's
g g
Comprehensive Plan certified, developing an impact fee program and coordinating the
development of regional facilities. The first two, certification of the plan and an impact
fee program, go hand-in-hand. As stated in this plan, the Town can not assess impact
fees until our plan has go through all the necessary steps to be "certified" by the
Commission.
The development of regional facilities will require not only Commission coordination but
also coordination with the surrounding towns. The cellular tower
example provided in
P
this section is an example of the reasons this coordination is needed.
In addition, the Town needs to work with State agencies thatp rovide financial assistance
to municipal building and facility projects. Grants that come through these bodies
provide an important funding source, which requires coordination and cooperation.
As stated in Policy 13, coordination is needed between the Town and the Mashpee Water
District and other utilities. one of the procedural recommendations of this plan is to
formalize a coordination process, so that all plans of all agencies developing infrastructure
within Mashpee can work towards sensible planning and development of the
infrastructure.
i
35
