Dami
Subject: Follow up on OML Complaint
Attention: Mashpee Board of Selectmen,Mr. Collins, and Ms. Dami:
Yesterday, I received correspondence from your legal counsel regarding the pending Open Meeting Law
Complaint I recently filed against the Board of Selectmen.
The problem is that it is not illegal for anybody to respond to an open meeting law complaint until the public
body has placed the, complaint on to their meeting agenda and notice, discussed the matter, and renderled a
decision on what action to take regarding the complaint.
Not doing so constitutes yet another violation of the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law.
Rather than me filing an additional complaint regarding this latest incident, I suggest that the Board of
Selectmen follow through and place the matter onto their meeting agenda at the earliest opportunity and follow
through with the process and procedure correctly.
With that said, I am satisfied with the remediation that has been decided upon relative to the initial complaint.
Thank you.
Best Regards,
Ron Beaty
Phone:
ry
