This by-law will assist the Town of Mashpee in the enforcement of state <br /> and local health and safety laws and regulations, and will provide a method for correcting violations <br /> when conditions require immediate attention, in particular, situations associated with rental <br /> tenancy in the Town of Mashpee. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of Article 29 by a vote of*HOLD* <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 29 by a vote of <br /> Article 30 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to accept the layouts as public ways of Leatherleaf Lane, Bog River <br /> Bend, Miller Farm Road and Ferngully Pass (Childs River East), as shown on plans entitled "Road <br /> Taking Plan Leather Leaf Road", "Road Taking Plan Bog River Bend" and "Road Taking Plan Fern <br /> Gully Pass & Miller Farm Road" in Mashpee MA, dated January 31, 2018, and prepared by Cape & <br /> Islands Engineering, which layouts shall have been filed in the Office of the Town Clerk not later <br /> than seven days prior to the date of vote hereunder, and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to <br /> acquire by gift, purchase, or eminent domain taking any land necessary for the purposes of such <br /> ways as so laid out, and to appropriate the sum of $408,030.00 to the Child's River East Roadways <br /> Account, and to raise said appropriation, the Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of <br /> Selectmen, be authorized to borrow at one time, or from time to time, under and pursuant to <br /> Chapter 44 Section 7 or 8, or any other enabling authority for such purchase or taking and layout, <br /> including costs of constructing such ways, and legal financing, and other costs incidental and <br /> related thereto, and further authorize the Board of Selectmen to assess betterments to the owners <br /> of the land abutting the ways. Any premium received by the Town upon the sale of any bonds or <br /> notes approved by this vote, less any such premium applied to the payment of the costs of issuance <br /> of such bonds or notes, may be applied to the payment of costs approved by this vote in accordance <br /> with Chapter 44, Section 20 of the General Laws, thereby reducing the amount authorized to be <br /> borrowed to pay such costs by a like amount, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by Petition <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of Article 30 by a vote of 4-0 <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 30 by a vote of <br /> Article 31 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to replace the Holiday "Christopher Columbus Day" to "Indigenous <br /> Peoples Day", or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by Petition <br />
