Report of the Report of the <br /> f <br /> inspector of Wires Animal Control Officer <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the To the Honorable Board of Selectmen, Chief of <br /> Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: Police Frye and the Citizens of the Town of <br /> I herewith submit my annual report for the year end- <br /> Mashpee: <br /> ing December 31, 1993. It is with a great deal of pleasure that I submit my <br /> eighth annual report to the community. During the <br /> Electricalpermits issued 459 $167855.00 period of January 1, 1993 through December 31, 1993 <br /> Alarm permits issued 186 4,640.00 the following services were provided by this depart- <br /> Total permits and fees 645 $219495.00 ment. <br /> I wish to thank all the Town Officials and personnel 15,906 Miles covered <br /> of the various Town Departments, the Commonwealth 80 Dogs removed to the shelter <br /> Electric Company and Electrical Contractors for their 65 Feral and stray cats removed to a shelter <br /> cooperation during the past year. 24 Dog bites investigated <br /> 31 Animals surrendered to the Town <br /> Respectfully submitted, 86 Dead animals and birds removed <br /> 159 Lost animal reports recorded <br /> John E. Newton 48 Barking complaints investigated <br /> Wire Inspector 23 Wild animals removed from domestic locations <br /> 29 Injured animals and,birds treated <br /> 20 Citations issued <br /> 1 Show cause hearing held <br /> Report of the In January, the annual rabies and licensing clinic <br /> i <br /> resulted in one hundred and ninety--two dogs being f <br /> Plumbing/Gas Inspector <br /> licensed. Effective February 24, 1993, a new state law <br /> was enacted requiring all cats in the Commonwealth <br /> six months of age or older to be vaccinated against <br /> rabies. Thus, in March the department held a special <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the Citizen feline rabies clinic at Mashpee Veterinary Hospital <br /> of the Town of Mashpee: where two hundred and ten cats were inoculated. <br /> Herewith is my annual report for the year ending <br /> December 31, 1993. With the incidents of rabies on the rise in <br /> Massachusetts, the Rabies Task Force of Cape Cod <br /> Plumbing permits issued 593 $319423.00 was formed and I was appointed as Mashpee's <br /> Gas permits issued 463 14,758.00 desinee.
