Cape Cod Tech continues to contribute to many <br /> Report of the educational projects for our member communities. <br /> Cape C Regional <br /> We thank you for your much appreciated continued <br /> Technical High <br /> School District Pp . <br /> support far vocational-technical education. <br /> Respectfully submitted <br /> Cape Cod Tech completed its eighteenth rewarding Thomas Bartley <br /> year of technical education under the direction of David S. Terry <br /> Superintendent-Director,Timothy Carroll, and contin-- current School committee Members <br /> ues to offer outstanding educational programs to our from the Town of Mashpee <br /> students while constantly exploring new career oppor- <br /> tunities. The Commission on Technical and Career <br /> Institutions reviewed the extensive Decennial <br /> Evaluation Report from the New England Association <br /> of Schools and Colleges dated November 3-5, and <br /> voted continued accreditation. <br /> Governor William Weld and members of his cabi- Report of the <br /> net, the Commissioner of Education Robert V. Personnel Board <br /> Antonucci, and Secretary of Education, Dr. Piedad <br /> Robertson toured several of our vocational programs + <br /> and hosted a media luncheon in our Culinary Arts <br /> Program. To the Board of Selectmen: <br /> During the calendar year 1993, there were thirteen <br /> Several gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as full-Board meetings and numerous partial-Board <br /> certificates were awarded to students participating in g p <br /> meetings related to .interviews, as well as meetings <br /> both State and National competitions of DELA with employees managers and within various depart- <br /> (Distributive ' <br /> Education clubs of America), FFA g � <br /> f America and VILA Vocational ments. The subjects of these meetings and discussions � <br /> (Future Farmers o ), covered a wide spectrum: <br /> Industrial Clubs of America). p <br /> Staffing <br /> Cape Cod Tech remains open on a year-round basis Employee Relations <br /> and this past summer 185 14-21 year old youths par- <br /> ated in a 6 week academic and vocational/life Conflict Resolution <br /> tici <br /> p Policy interpretation <br /> skills training experience in ten vocational shops, 25 Job evaluation and position descriptions <br /> Displaced Homemakers took part in a 6 week 15 hour . p <br /> per week morning Vocational Exploratory Experience Performance evaluation <br /> p g P ' Salary decisions <br /> in 6 vocational programs while 28 of their children <br /> received daily transportation and child care services; � <br /> 12 work experience students from the Barnstable In the employment area, the ratio of the number of <br /> P applications received to the number of position open- <br /> County Summer Work Experience Program assisted in in s was quite high. Approximately 400 resumes and <br /> Horticulture and Clerical support. Additionally, 13 <br /> ' <br /> in the Certified Nurse Aide/Home applications were screened, and 91 interviews were <br /> adults <br /> participated conducted to fill eighteen regular full and part-time <br /> Health Training Program, and 8 adults enrolled in positions and twenty-six seasonal positions. <br /> Introduction to Computers. p y <br /> Major renovations were begun and completed in the <br /> entire academic area providing a better equipped, Leisure Service Director <br /> more comfortable, quieter area, promoting greater c ect <br /> . <br /> learnin Property Lister <br /> g Board Secretary <br /> Alternate Building Inspector <br /> From the Class of 1993, 70% of the graduates are Harbormaster <br /> employed in their trade or in an aligned occupation, aster <br /> 22% pursued further education, 1% listed in the Council on Aging Director <br /> Armed Forces and 7% are outside employed Assistant Assessor <br /> s de their <br /> trade. Additionally, forty-four adults completed their Program Supervisor <br /> education in our da school program during the 1992- Part-time Dispatchers (10)93 school year.
