6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 8, 2019 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Approval of Appointment to the Waterways Commission,• <br /> GreggFraser Term Expires: June 30, 2020): <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with Gregg Fraser to discuss his interest in serving on the Waterways <br /> Commission. Mr. Fraser indicated he has been employed as the Harbormaster for the Town of Falmouth <br /> for the past 25 years working closely with the Division of Natural Resources. His experience would <br /> make his contributions an asset to the Town of Mashpee serving as a ring to bring the two towns closer. <br /> Additional communication was received from Ken Bates, Waterways Commission Chair strongly <br /> recommending the appointment of Gregg Fraser to the volunteer position. <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to appoint Gregg Fraser to the Waterways Commission. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of the Following Special Events Temporary Sign Permits and One-Day Liquor <br /> Licenses: <br /> Heroes in Transition—Nicole Spencer: Annual RUCK4HIT—May 3 & 4, 2019: <br /> Special Event& Temporary Sign Permit: <br /> Nicole Spencer was in attendance representing the Heroes In Transition organization to request the <br /> Board's approval of the 4th Annual RUCK4HIT Cape Cod Relay scheduled to be held on May 3, 2019 <br /> through May 4, 2019. <br /> The proposed Special Event has received necessary approvals from various Town Departments. There <br /> is no change to the planned route. A total of 10 signs; 18"x24" are proposed. This is the largest <br /> fundraiser event to support Heroes in Transition, in continuing efforts to never leave a fallen comrade <br /> behind. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cotton to approve the Special Event Application of Heroes in <br /> Transition for the Annual RUCK411IT Cape Cod Relay and associated Temporary Sign Permit. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Gottlieb. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br /> 6 <br />
