u- <br /> 1A HPEE TOWN HALL BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> Minutes for July 1 , 1995 <br /> Page <br /> • The project was currently at the final schematics stage and going out to bid; <br /> • They felt that Roger Hoit was at their site a tremendous amount of the time; <br /> • A different architect is doing their school project and it is not going as well; <br /> • They were much more happy with Strekalov ky and Holt; <br /> 0 Felt that Roger Hoit was particularly good with room adjacencies; <br /> • Mr. Williams stated " o far, so good;" <br /> • They would recommend Strekalovky and Hoit. <br /> Bob 1l hritenour reported he had spoken to Roger Feed regarding the $175,000 <br /> Westport project that Strep al ovsky and Hoit is doing. He stated he was told the <br /> following: <br /> They had only been on the job 6 - 8 weeks and he thought the project was <br /> coring along slowly but stated that some of the delay right be the Town's fault; <br /> • Stated that Strekalov ky and Hoit had done a project years ago in Westport that <br /> the Town had not been happy with; <br /> • Stated that they are also doing a Senior Center project for them; <br /> Stated that they are very accessible, <br /> Jiro reported that he had spoken with the Building Committee Chairman in Webster and <br /> he was told the following: <br /> • Their project had involved handicap accessibility with an elevator and that they <br /> were not too happy with the way it had come out; <br /> • Their project had involved working with an old, ornate building; <br /> • Strekalovsky and Hoit had put in trailers as temporary office space during their <br /> project and stated there had been a lot of complaining but that it had all worked <br /> out; <br /> • Stated that they had a lot of problems with the elevator and that the actual <br /> elevator was still not working right; <br /> They thought that Stre alov ky and Hoit were not very imaginative but that they <br /> were very practicable} <br /> Their change orders were minimal with the exception of the handicap <br /> accessibility and the elevator; <br /> • Stated they would probably use therm again. <br /> Jim reported he had called the Chairman of the Building Committee for the Mashpee <br /> Middle School project and stated he was told that the Chairman had nothing but praise <br /> for Strekalovky and Holt, <br /> Jiro stated he had called Roger Hoit to ask him if his design would preclude doing <br /> something with the roof of the 1960's building. He stated Mr. Hoit stated that it would <br /> not preclude this and that something could be done with it. Jim stated he had received <br /> several calls from Tadhg Sweeney. Jim stated that both of these firms had reiterated <br /> that they wanted very much to get this project. <br />
