Board also <br /> discussed details of first annual Preservation Award. <br /> Richard described strong town support for the Revolutionary War memorial, comparing <br /> complete accurate lists of participants and spelling of names with Rita Lopez, Tribal Registrar. <br /> Registration in neighboring towns continues to present problems. Richard expected lists to be <br /> ready by town meeting May 6, discussed methods and media (posting in town hall, senior <br /> center, newspapers, web-based social media) to make lists public for verification by community <br /> and to prevent omissions. Early records are poor, and 61 Revolutionary War graves unmarked <br /> with few marked graves from Civil War. Working toward 2020. Norm Diaz is working on Korean <br /> War veterans names. <br /> Ava described progress on narrative for Signage Project nearing completion despite computer <br /> near death. She and Rich met with town manager Rodney Collins and assistant Wayne Taylor <br /> and received permission to use Archives Building on weekends during special events. She <br /> asked for clarification on responsibility of Historical Commission to Schoolhouse, donations for <br /> War Memorial, Preservation Award, pictures belonging to Commission/Archives used by <br /> newspapers. David Weeden, NAGPRA and tribal Historical officer, offered use of tribal <br /> professional photographic scanning equipment for fragile holdings which was approved by <br /> Rodney Collins with the stipulation that Historical Commissioner accompanies items when <br /> removed from the Archives Building. Anticipating town's sesquicentennial celebration and <br /> Plymouth's 400tH <br /> Isaiah Thomas Bookstore requested additional copies of Rosemary's second book for sale. <br /> Nancy offered to follow-up with book dealers and library on adequate stock and will arrange with <br /> Rosemary to sign as requested. <br /> Board received request from Rosemary Burns Love to be reappointed in June for another 3 <br /> years. Richard moved to reappoint Rosemary Burns Love and Nancy seconded. Board voted to <br /> reappoint with 1 abstention. <br /> Board received call from Dorothy Cash, about location of tree planted in Veterans Garden in <br /> 1980-1990's honoring her mother. Commission will research with town elders and respond. <br />
