*DRAFT#2* OCTOBER 21, 2019 Annual Town Meeting warrant <br /> Article <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the Mashpee General Bylaws as follows,or take any other action <br /> in relation thereto: <br /> Chapter 126 <br /> Article II Polystyrene Products Ban <br /> §126-9. Purpose and Intent <br /> The use and disposal of polystyrene has significant impacts on our Town and our environment, <br /> including but not limited to: <br /> 1. Harm to marine and terrestrial animals through ingestion :and entanglement. <br /> 2. Y <br /> Unsi htl pollution and degradation of the terrestrial and aquatic environment, requiring <br /> Unsightly <br /> costly cleanup efforts. <br /> 3. Disposal costs of difficult to recycle plastics for solid waste collection and recycling facilities. <br /> With theoal of protecting the health of its citizens and the unique natural beauty and irreplaceable <br /> g p g <br /> ...... <br /> natural resources of the Town of Mashpee, and given that inexpensive, safe alternatives to <br /> polystyrene are easily obtained,the Town will phaseout the use of certain polystyrene plastics by July <br /> i, 2020. <br /> §126-10.
