16 Board of Selectmen Minutes August 19, 2019 Create and Fund a Code Enforcement Officer: Motion made by Selectman Sherman to add the Code Enforcement Officer Article on the October warrant. Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed, none Motion made by Selectman Sherman to recommend approval of the Code Enforcement Officer Article on the October warrant. Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed, none It was noted the article was written by Town Counsel to create a permanent full-time employment position within the Health Department entitled Code Compliance Inspector. The amount will be disclosed at the next meeting. Add Rental Property Regulation Bylaw: Approved. To adopt a General Bylaw relative to the regulation of rental properties in the Town of Mashpee. Motion made by Selectman Sherman to add the Rental Property Regulation Bylaw Article on the October warrant. Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed, none It was agreed the language of the article would be refined and reviewed by the Board of Selectmen at their August 22, 2019 meeting. Modify Accessory Apartment By-Law with Planning Board edits): Approved. TOWN MANAGER UPDATES Water District Meeting: It was announced the Board of Water District Commissioners voted at their meeting of August 16, 2019 to not support the creation of a combined Water/Sewer District and to not engage in negotiations on any such effectuating legislation by a vote of 2-1. The Town Manager is expected to meet with the Water District to review contract negotiations next week. Town Seal Committee: Communication was received from the Historical Commission regarding the replacement of tl Town of Mashpee Seal. In accordance with the vote of the May 2019 Town Meeting the Historical Commission is charged to lead the project by conducting research and providing updates to the Board of Selectmen. Several individuals have expressed an interest in serving on the Town Seal Committee. The Board of Selectmen deferred to the Town Manager to make the recommendation regarding the make-up of this committee.
