Explanation: The purpose of this bylaw is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of both the <br /> occupant(s) of rental housing units and the general public, and to maintain the quality of life in <br /> residential neighborhoods. This bylaw will assist the Town of Mashpee in the enforcement of state and <br /> local health and safety laws and regulations and will provide a method for correcting violations when <br /> conditions require immediate attention, in particular, situations associated with rental tenancy in the <br /> Town of Mashpee. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of Article 8 by a vote of 4-0 <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 8 by a vote of 5-0 <br /> MOTION TO BE MADE BY SELECTMAN O'HARA: <br /> move the Town vote to approve Article 8 as printed in the warrant with the <br /> exception of the phrase, "or take any other action relating thereto." <br /> Article 9 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create a permanent full time employment position within the Health <br /> Department entitled Code Compliance Inspector, pursuant to the Personnel Administrative Plan, <br /> General Bylaw Section 5-7 as recommended by the Town Manager, the duties and responsibilities of <br /> which shall include, without limitation, performing advanced administrative, technical, inspection and <br /> investigative work related to the enforcement and interpretation of Town codes, Bylaws, departmental <br /> policies and procedures, related rules and regulations, and performing varied duties related to <br /> application of state laws, codes and regulations in the Town of Mashpee; and, further, to appropriate, <br /> raise and/or transfer the sum of$100,473 from revenue available for appropriation, with said funds to <br /> be distributed as follows: $61,035 to the Health Department Salary/Wage account, $25,272 to the <br /> Medical insurance account, $35 to the Group Life Insurance account, $885 to the Medicare expense <br /> account, and $13,246 to the Barnstable County Retirement expense account, or take any other action <br /> relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article will create and fund a full time Code Compliance Inspector within the Health <br /> Department.
