NMBed of rd"SIR <br /> I r) <br /> New Bedford-Rochester-Sandwich <br /> August 9, 2019 <br /> Town of Mashpee <br /> Rodney Collins <br /> Town Manager <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA.02649 <br /> RE: Solid Waste Price Increase Notification <br /> This notification is to inform the Town of Mash-Pee that New Bedford Waste Services <br /> LLC (NBWS) will be implementing a price increase Under Section 13 "Uncontrollable <br /> Circumstances" ("UCC") of the contract, dated 1/1/2015,which allows NBWS the right to adjust <br /> pricing. <br /> With the diminishing capacity of approved disposal in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the <br /> cost of handling and proper disposal of Solid Waste materials has forced this price increase. <br /> In the past five years,the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has lost over 1,500,000 tons of <br /> approved available disposal capacity. As disposal capacity continues to be reduced, cost per ton <br /> for disposal increases.. We have no control over these circumstances and accordingly must <br /> increase our price per ton per the contract. <br /> Pricing for Solid Waste will be $75.00 per ton.
