In addition to Dennis, the Town of. <br /> Barnstable has committed $250,000, the Town of Yarmouth has committed $120,000, and the <br /> Town of Chatham has,committed-$50,000.-The ToWn of Brewster CPC-has,approved $75,,-000, with <br /> final approval pending their November 17 Town Meetings <br /> Once completed, the complex will provide a fully supervised residence which meets the criteria for <br /> state-supported funding for extremely low-income housing and delivers state directed services for <br /> this unique population. The project has been developed in response to the unmet needs of a <br /> neglected and growing population of housing-insecure adults with Autism and related disabilities. <br /> FORWARD recognizes that adults with Autism, often requiring significant support,,deserve access <br /> to housing that enables them to lead secure and fulfilling lives in a specially adapted home <br /> environment that provides safely and.independence.' <br /> We currently have a number of unfunded or underfunded exterior improvements which will help <br /> turn a house into a home and provide additional safety features. These include- landscaping, <br /> building signage, enhanced lighting and curbing for driveway and parking lot safety, lighting for the <br /> building envelope,-an alarm system, closet lighting, and two modest porches that will provide a <br /> quiet and relaxing therapeutic"escape spaces". <br /> I. Goals: what are the goals of the proposedpro'ect? <br /> 1. Build eight new affordable housing units for adults (22 and up)with Autism who might otherwise <br /> be at'risk for homelessness, or are currently living in sub-standard situations. <br /> *Construct.two buildings, each consisting of 4 single room occupancy living units, common <br /> kitchen,.dining and Iiving space, with'a courtyard for shared socializing and recreation. <br /> Provide appropriate neighborhood-friendly landscaping, access and parking for use by <br /> residents, visitors and the public. <br /> 2. Provide eight Cape Cod adults with Autism with permanent life-long supportive living residences <br /> on the Cape. <br /> •Place 8 adults with Autism selected and pre-approved by the state's Department of <br /> Developmental Services in the residences. <br /> *Provide 24/7 services delivered by Cape Abilities in accordance with each resident's <br /> Individual Service Plan (ISP). <br /> Provide long-term maintenance of buildings and grounds. <br /> Provide oversite of the facility and service providers. <br /> 3.
