FINCOM• This Article seeks to change the language of the Mashpee Zoning By Law from ground mounted <br /> Solar Photovoltaic systems as presently stated, to Medium Scale and Large Scale ground mounted solar <br /> energy systems, essentially not changing-what is currently allowed in Industrial Districts, but clarifying that <br /> they are ONLY allowed in Industrial Districts. <br /> The Finance committee recommends approval of Article 33 by vote of 5-0 <br /> Article 34 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend §174-3 of the Mashpee Zoning Bylaw-Terms Defined as follows: <br /> „Photovoltaic 5ys.teM (also referred to as Photovoltaic Installation). An active solar energy system that <br /> converts solar energy directly into electricity, <br /> Solar Ener, stern Ground-Mounted: An active solar energy system that is structurally mounted to the <br /> ground and i_s not roof-mounted; may be of any size (small-, medium- or large-scale). <br /> Solar Ener S stern are-Scat . An active solar energy system that occupies more than 40,000 square <br /> feet of surface area. <br /> Solar An active solar energy system that occupies more than 1,750 but less <br /> than 40,000 square feet of surface area. <br /> .Solar Ener stem Roof-I' punted: An active solar energy system that is structurally mounted to the roof <br /> of a building or structure; may be of any size (small-, medium- or large-scale). <br /> Solar Energy.S st+eri Small-Scale: An active solar energy system that occupies 1,750 square feet of surface <br /> area or less. <br /> Submitted by the Planning Board <br /> Explanation:This article will add definitions recommended by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to the <br /> Zoning Bylaw for :the regulation of solar energy systems as currently regulated in the zoning bylaw and a <br /> proposed in related warrant articles. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of Article 34 by a vote of 5-0 <br /> FINCOM: This Article amends the Mashpee Zoning By-Law,by adding definitions for the various Solar Energy <br /> Systems. <br /> The Finance committee recommends approval of Article 34 by a vote of 5-0 <br /> Article 35 <br /> To see if the Town will mote to authorize and empower the Board of Selectmen to prepare a plan laying out <br /> and defining Chestnut Street, Cedar Street, Devon Street, Ash Street, Hawthorne Street and Gina Way and <br /> accomplish said purpose and for expenses related thereto, the Town note to appropriate and transfer the <br /> sum of $12,500 from revenue available for appropriation to the Chestnut Street, Cedar Street, Devon <br /> Street, Ash Street, Hawthorne Street and Gina Inlay Roadways Account, or take any other action relating <br /> thereto. <br /> SEE MAP in APPENDIX A Submitted by Petition <br /> Explanation: This article authorizes the Town to layout and define Chestnut Street, Cedar Street, Devon <br /> Street, Ash Street, Hawthorne Street and Gina Inlay and to appropriate funding for this purpose. <br /> 8 <br />
