1e
30
Report of School and 'Town Nurse
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen
and the Citizens of the Town of Mashpee
During this year of 1961 particular attention has been
given to the children of the town in an effort to guard their
present and future health and to educate their parents in
forming better health habits.
All school children were examined by Mrs. Alice Dalgell,,
County Dental Hygienist, and those most in need of dental
work were transported weekly to the Cotuit office of Dr. Craw-
ford.
Mrs. Lucy E. Haeselick, public health nurse for Mashpee r
during the first nine months of 1961 used both the Hass.
Vision and the Mass. Pure Tone Hearing Test for all pupils ° ;a
and all those children showing defects were followed up.
Clinics were held and conducted by Dr. Fred L. Moose, ..
County Health Officer.
In October of this year Mrs. Carol S. McLane assumed
the duties of Mrs. Haeselich who has retired.
We have felt particularly happy with the response of
many mothers who have expressed their willingness to assist
when ever possible in programs pertaining to the health avd
welfare of our young people.
Also the beautiful new cafeteria serving nutritious and
appetizing hot lunches daily and the spacious classrooms of
the school addition should be a source of pride and an inspira-
tion for the cleanliness necessary to better health.
