36
Report of the Conservation Commission
To the Citizens and Taxpayers of the
Town of Mashpee:
We have been concerned about the dredging of the
marshlands in Mashpee. The Selectmen and the commission
have worked together this past year and we feel that we
have this problem under control.
We have viewed several parcels of marshland, along with
the Selectmen.
We did express our opinion to the Selectmen about these
parcels. As the marshlands would not be covered or dredged,
we approved work in Great River at Monomoscoy Road. On
the other parcels we did not think it was advisable as the
marsh was to be used as a fill or to make more area to the
uplands.
We also planted a number of Lotus plants in Mill Pond,
which we bought from a firm in Maryland.
Respectfully submitted,
WILLIAM MILLS
MERWIN STURGIS
WILLIAM LOPEZ
ELWOOD MILLS
CARL AVANT
