96
1,
Mashpee Advisory Commission
En
November 5, 1964
Board of Selectmen
Mashpee
Massachusetts
Gentlemen:
In reply to your letter dated October 27, and a letter
dated October 28 from your town clerk, and supplementing
our letter of October 22, we regret to advise you that, based
on the corrected certification of your town clerk, there is a
defect in the vote adopted under Article 6 and your town
will not be able to borrow money towards the cost of the pur-
chase of the portable screening plant.
It is necessary for your town to have appropriated
$1,005.30 towards the cost of the screening unit from avail-
able funds before you would be eligible to borrow under Sec-
tion 7 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws. This you failed
to do and, accordingly, we cannot approve this appropriation.
At a meeting of the Commission held today, we voted to
approve the action adopted under Article 5 at your special
town meeting on October 6, 1964 relating to the police cruis-
ers, and to disapprove the action under Article 6 because of
the deficiency in that portion of the appropriation from avail-
able funds.
EDWARD C. WILSON, Chairman
ARTHUR H. MacKINNON
Mashpee Advisory Commission
