32
Report" of the Town Landing Committee
The Town Landing Committee has made a study of the
existing facilities and projected use of the Mashpee Neck
Town landing and finds that the present landing is totally
inadequate to serve the needs of the Town. The Town now
owns approximately one acre near the landing; however, this
land is separated from the landing by lots 15-A and 16-A of
the Pirates Cove Development. In order to provide for the
present and projected use of this landing, the Committee
recommends that these two lots be acquired by the Town and
that the Town appropriate sufficient money to improve these
facilities. The Committee has asked the Board of Selectmen
to take the necessary steps to have these lands appraised and
taken by the Town.
The Committee is also conducting a study to determine
the feasibility of constructing a landing at Punkhorn Point
on land presently owned by the Town. This particular land-
ing will require the Town to take land to provide an access
road to the proposed landing. The Board of Selectmen have
been asked to take the necessary steps to lay out this road
and determine the value of land involved. It is expected that
at the 1968 Annual Town Meeting an article will be presented
to the Town to acquire the above mentioned land and to ap-
propriate the monies necessary for the purchase of the land
and the construction mentioned above.
Respectfully submitted,
CARL A. AVANT, Chairman
