36
Cemetery Commissioners' Report
The Cemetery Commissioners hereby submit the Annual Re-
port for the year nineteen hundred sixty six.
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen:
In the 1965 annual report it was voted to purchase two
new lawn mowers to be used at the Old Indian Cemetery, due
to the large area of grass to be mowed we are again request-
ing to trade the small mower toward a new and larger mower
which is a must for our needs.
In the latter part of July vandalism was reported at the
Cemetery, again thank -you to our Police Department they
were recovered, also repaired at no cost to the families.
All old graves that have sunken over the years were built
up and seeded, small maple trees were planted through out
the cemetery. This spring we are in hopes of having a new
section cleared, graded and seeded.
We are most grateful to the families that in the past
few years have had Indian monuments erected on their lots
as it is most becoming to the Indian Cemetery visitors and
shows that our heritage is not becoming a thing of the past.
We are hoping in the future others will do the same.
Respectfully submitted,
LEIGH N. POTTER (Chairman)
OLIVER POCKNETT
ELMONT B. TOBEY
,M
