38
Report of the Board of Health
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen
Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts
Gentlemen and Citizens of the Town of Mashpee:
The Board of Health offered the town the services of
professional care, nursing facilities, sanitation, clinics, im-
munizations, extended surveys and investigations.
This year the Town was offered the opportunity to re-
ceive nursing services under professional supervision. We are
now a member of the District Nursing Services of Barnstable,
Dennis and Yarmouth.
The dental program cared and examined the school
children. Under present arrangements, the children are
transported to the dentist's office and receive individual at-
tention.
Well-child clinics, immunizations and polio clinics were
offered and carried out by our visiting doctors and nurses.
The town, this year, has experienced a rapid growth in
developments. Additional stress was applied by the Board to
insure proper sanitation and other installations. The in-
creased demand for licenses, permits, and applications, which
require strict investigations, has doubled the work -load of
the Board.
The town disposal area was maintained and controlled
under the surveillance of our custodians. The area received
care, bulldozing and controlled burning, thereby offering the
jmost possible area for dumping. A survey has required the
Board to forecast the acquisition of extended area facilities
j for handling of future debris.
The annual clean-up week was carried out and received
i
co-operation and participation from the inhabitants.
