86 <br />Warrant for Special Town Meeting <br />SPECIAL TOWN MEETING - TOWN OF MASHPEE <br />MAY 23, 1966 <br />BARNSTABLE, ss.: To the Constable of the <br />Town of Mashpee GREETINGS: <br />In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you <br />are hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants <br />of the Town of Mashpee, who are qualified to vote in the <br />elections, to meet at the Town Hall, on Monday, May the 23rd, <br />1966 at 7 P.M. for the following purposes: <br />Moderator William W. Mills called the meeting to order <br />at 7:10 P.M. The tellers, Mrs. Barbara Peters and Miss El- <br />eanor Peters, counted 120 voters present which constitutes a <br />quorum. <br />A prayer was delivered by Reverend John Shade Frank- <br />lin. <br />Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- <br />propriate, or take from available funds, the sum of $22,000.00 <br />to install a central switchboard which will serve all Town De- <br />partments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Installation costs <br />$3,200.00; cost for 24 hour clerical service $18,000.00 (total <br />cost $22,000.00), or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded that article be <br />tabled. <br />Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the <br />Board of Assessors to enter into contract for the preparation <br />of Assessors' maps over a three year period for a total cost of <br />$25,500, under provisions -of the General Laws, Chapter 40, <br />Section 4, and to raise and appropriate the sum of $8,500.00 <br />from the current year tax levy, or take any other action <br />thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to accept article as <br />read. <br />
