Davis School in September of 1968. Mrs, <br /> Patricia DeConto, a graduate of the University of Massa- <br /> chusetts with an A.B. degree was assigned to grade one. She <br /> " formerly taught in the Pembroke Public School System and <br /> substituted in Sandwich. <br /> Mrs. Marilyn E. Strauss graduated from Wittenberg Uni. <br /> versity with a B.S. degree and received her Ed.M. from Indi- <br /> ana University. Previous to her Mashpee assignment, she <br /> taught in England, Madison, Wisconsin, Spain, Japan and <br /> Battle Creek, Michigan. p p <br /> High School Program <br /> Our young people attending Falmouth High School have <br /> a long school day as a result of the new "staggered schedule" <br /> initiated in September, 1968. Many remain at the close of <br /> the school day to participate in athletics and other extra <br /> curricular activities. Additional transportation has been <br /> made available to take care of their needs. <br /> Repairs <br /> Two important exterior jobs were completed during the <br /> summer of 1968 on the. Samuel G. Davis School: <br /> 1• Application of a sealer to eliminate seepage on two <br /> exterior walls. <br /> 2. Painting of exterior trim. <br /> Our Schools <br /> Our schools are our one best hope for individual attain- <br /> ment and for national strength and welfare. Without appro- <br /> priate education of children, youth, and adults, our values <br /> will be lost, our economy and <br /> vision blurred, and the individual Productivity <br /> ed ty famished, our <br /> Without education in ever-growing scope and quality, 51 <br /> i' our nation will fall feeble and the individual will fail of his <br /> i ; <br /> i. -- <br /> J <br />
