75
Report of the Harbor Master
To the Citizens and Selectmen of the
Town of Mashpee:
Buoys and ground tackle were painted and reconditioned
fiber as necessary, and set out to mark the channels in Poppones-
set and Little River. A couple of late season storms swept a
couple buoys off station and they were reset.
uoit
Pleasant weather made it a good season for pleasure
boats so there was lots of activity on the waterways. Water
ned skiing and speeding in restricted areas continue to be the
chief problems. I attended a meeting of Harbor Masters and
Division of Motor Boats officers. The chief topic of discus-
sion was the need of educating the boating public and en-
forcing the present rules and regulations in the interest of
for safety on the waterways.
I find that the vast majority of boaters are cooperative
and most violations are not wilful.
My thanks to several good citizens who reported channel
obstructions, loose boats and buoys.
Respectfully submitted,
GORDON CROWELL,
Harbor Master
We
t
ANr
=z
x
