54 <br /> Report of the Dog Officer <br /> To the Honorable Board a d of Selectmen and <br /> the Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: <br /> I hereby submit my report as Dog Officer for the year <br /> ending December 31, 1969. <br /> This year started off slow as the first call came at 7:00 <br /> a.m. 1/4/69 from Popponessett Beach to save a dog that had <br /> fallen through the ice at Deans Pond and had been there <br /> most of the night unknown wn to <br /> the <br /> caner. <br /> This last fall I was s able to have <br /> a Rabies hies clini <br /> c t <br /> a the <br /> Town Hall for two days for dogs and cats, which proved a <br /> success and it is our hope that we will be able to hold another <br /> clinic this year as the State Law requires all dogs are to be <br /> vaccinated against Rabies. <br /> The Town was able to purchase a dog trap, restraining <br /> pole and a pair of gloves. <br /> The following as listed: <br /> Dog Complaints 50 <br /> Dead Dog Complaints 3 <br /> i <br /> Dogs Disposed of 3 <br /> Dogs returned to Owners 21 <br /> Lost Dog Complaints 12 <br /> Dog Bites Investigated 6 <br /> Dogs Confined 44 <br /> I wish to thank all the citizens of the Town for an en- <br /> joyable year, as Dog Officer. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> VERNON A.
