103
and the killing of a.mute swan. This could not be investi-
gated properly due to the fact that !at the time we did not
have a four wheel drive vehicle, something that we do hope
to have this next year, 1971, in order for us to properly
cover the wild life areas.
We would like to encourage the citizens of Mashpee to
contact us and perhaps share with us the rewards of caring
for natures wild life. There :are many areas that we;have to
cover that we have not begun to touch. Our services are on
a volunteer basis to the Town of Mashpee. However, we are
willing to give assistance to anyone when and where possible
in the area of conservation and wild life management per-
taining to Mashpee. With encouragement from the citizens
of Mashpee, we hope the year 1971 will help us to fulfill the
position we have undertaken.
We would also like to thank the following for the co-
operation they extended to our program: Mr. Louis C. Shlot-
terbeck, South East District Manager, Division of Fisheries
and Game, Mrs. Amelia Bingham, Mr. Arnold C. Lane, Barn-
stable County Agriculture Aid Cape Cod Extension Service,
Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals,
Centerville, Cape Cod Audubon Society, Augat Inc., Mashpee,
and the Southwick Wild Animal Farm, Mendon.
Respectfully submitted,
ELIO P.
