50 <br /> Report of the Librarian <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> I hereby submit my report for the year ending December <br /> j 1970. <br /> III Number Bound Volumes 3100 <br /> Adult 1902 <br /> Juveniles 1198 <br /> Total Number Volumes of: <br /> Adult books circulated 44 <br /> Juvenile books circulated 282 <br /> Total Books Circulated 326 <br /> Many new books have been purchased for the library <br /> with the Town funds, including best sellers and non-circu- <br /> lating reference books. We also have a very good selection <br /> of new books on Cape Cod, and Cape Cod Indians so that we <br /> may have a complete reference for summer visitors who fre- <br /> quently use the library and inquire about books in this <br /> 1 category. <br /> Book circulation is still very low, especially among High <br /> f School pupils .and adults. Our selection includes many books <br /> i' on the schools reading list and adult books which are kept <br /> up to date on the torp twenty best selling list. <br /> The Friends of the Library a group which formed a year <br /> ago have had several talks and exhibits of interest; these <br /> are open to the public. <br /> Donations of new and used books, magazines are still <br /> e ; <br /> being donated to the library by townspeople and from sur- <br /> �! rounding communities. We wish to thank all those who have <br /> j contributed their time and donations. <br /> Story hour is still being :held at the library on Saturday <br /> mornings from 101:00 to 11:00, a.m. This is sponsored by the <br /> P.T.A. <br /> I wish to thank the Library Trustees for their co- <br /> operation, also Mrs. Helen Edwards the Library Assistant. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> j ADELINE B.
